Rachell wins her first award... with 'Tender Embrace'

In her first year of exhibiting at the Royal Easter Show in 2006, Rachell Jones earns a prestigious Merit Award for her painting 'Tender Embrace'. This remarkable black and white painting captures a 'slice' of an intimate moment and as an audience we see just a glimpse of this moment. Then in our minds we try to imagine the complete idea.

"The Easter Show Art Competition is a fantastic opportunity for quality emerging and professional artists from all over New Zealand to present and compete together. The wide range of painting concepts and ideas are amazing and standard of entrants excellent. I am honored to be able to participate in this event and even more thrilled and humbled to actually receive a Merit Award." says Rachell.

Rachell wins her second award... with 'Romantic Bloom'

In her second year of exhibiting at the Royal Easter Show in 2007, Rachell Jones welcomes another Merit Award for her painting 'Romantic Bloom'. This cluster of deep red roses is astonishingly real looking with dark shadows making it very romantically dramatic.

"This Award is really wonderful and awesome. I feel privileged to receive it and feel inspired to simply keep doing what I have become really passionate about, emotive paintings." says Rachell.

Rachell wins her third award... with 'Leading Lady'

After three already successful years of exhibiting at the Royal Easter Show and competing in their prestigious Art Competition, Rachell Jones receives yet another Merit Award. This time it is for her painting 'Leading Lady'. This is simply a gorgeous flower and the petals look so real you can almost smell their fragrance! With the blends of stunning colour, bright light areas and sultry shadows we are really drawn into the core of the flower.

"Wow, I am so flattered and grateful, and really overwhelmed! Achieving another Merit Award at the Easter Show feels amazing to me. 'Leading Lady' was a joy to paint and I am just so pleased that people continue to enjoy seeing what I see in the gorgeousness of flowers." says Rachell.
